THE SMALL PRINT

Death plays fair.
Mostly.

Guess the secret word before your lives run out and complete the wooden hangman. Easy gives 8 lives, Medium 6 and Hard 5. Correct guesses reveal every matching letter. The word never changes.

Two deals are offered each round, each usable once. Every cost is stated before you accept. Daily players receive identical offers. Free-play offers are random. A whisper reveals a letter but costs a life (unavailable on your final life). Banish three removes three unguessed wrong letters. An appeal restores a lost life, but erases your clue for the rest of the round.

Use your keyboard or the letter buttons. Sound is optional; the Collector's dialogue is always captioned. Every case starts with 90 seconds. Borrowed time adds 20 seconds for 150 base points; no daily round extends past UTC midnight. Double or dust must be chosen before your first guess: it doubles your win score, but any wrong guess ends the round and the other deal is locked. At zero, Death claims the round for zero points. Refreshing, leaving the tab or opening a menu does not pause time. All music, effects and voice recordings are made with ElevenLabs. Sound is on by default and starts on your first click or keypress. Music darkens and the clock accelerates as time runs out. You can mute at any time. Reduced-motion preferences are respected.

Scoring: win for (500 + 50 × remaining lives − stated deal fees) × difficulty multiplier (1 / 2 / 3), doubled only with Double or dust. Losing scores zero. Only the daily challenge counts in competitive standings. Each verified account can play its three stages once per UTC day. Incomplete stages score zero. Weekly leagues run Monday to Sunday UTC; daily and difficulty divisions are available. Equal scores and win counts share a rank. Free play records personal bests only. There are no active prizes.

THE AFTERLIFE LEAGUE

Death hates
a high achiever.

One fixed three-word entry per day. Verified souls only. Daily words and deals are identical for everyone. Free-play scores do not enter this league.

Weeks run Monday–Sunday UTC. Same scores and wins share a rank. Missing rounds earn zero; more attempts cannot improve your entry. No prizes or advertising are active.
